Good afternoon Caffeinators,
Read on to take a sneak peek at what’s coming from Caffeine in the coming weeks. Big week next week in particular, with some brand new video content dropping which I am very excited about because if there is one thing I love more than writing about startups, it’s nattering about them on camera.
If you’ve got a story, press release, interview to pitch or just want to tell me I’m wrong about something - send it over to finn@caffeinedaily.co
If you’re interested in working with Caffeine as a partner, flick Georgia an email on: georgia@caffeinedaily.co
Have a great weekend, look after each other, and we’ll see you next week.

Coming up on Caffeine:
Explainer: Compliance 101 with our friends at Vanta: For many founders, the word "compliance" conjures images of endless paperwork, bureaucratic red tape, and a drain on precious resources that could be better spent on innovation and growth.
Full disclosure, before we did this partnership with Vanta I had only the haziest idea of how compliance really worked. So in the interest of education, we’re kicking off a new series of 101s which break down some of the essentials of startup world - starting with the sometimes neglected but always important sector of compliance.
Here’s a little something to say, ‘we love you all’!
Notion for Business - Enjoy 6 months free
Vanta - Enjoy $1000 off
Part two of our conversation with KNK’s co-founders: KNK is a boutique consulting firm bringing real-world executive experience and entrepreneurial thinking to founders, boards, and growth-stage businesses. From navigating the earliest startup steps to executing high-stakes turnarounds or leadership transitions, KNK provides strategy, transformation, and growth consulting grounded in what it actually takes to build and scale a company. This was one of those conversations that left me with a new perspective on our sector and I can’t wait to bring the next of our two editorials week after next.
Interview with Brandon Hutcheson on the future we want from AI: I teased this interview last week but it will now be landing on Thursday next week, which feels like a good lay up for the AI Summit in the week after. I have a lot of conversations about the future of emerging technology but this was one of my favourites. Brandon Hutcheson, Aware Group co-founder and AI forum executive council member, is one of the most knowledgeable people in this space because he’s been thinking about its hard problems and creating solutions before anyone even heard of Chat GPT.
He discussed the pivotal role of AI in shaping our future, advocating for New Zealand to adopt a more proactive and risk-tolerant approach to emerging technologies. We also got into the societal implications of advanced AI, job displacement, the future of human purpose in a potentially post-scarcity world and unpacked my favourite hypothetical question - are we heading towards a "Star Trek" future or a "Star Wars" one? This is one is for the nerds.
That’s it for today, thanks for reading. Want to get in touch with a news tip, bit of feedback or just to chat? Email hello@caffeinedaily.co. Look after yourselves this weekend and we’ll see you Monday.
