An interview with Ruminant Biotech CEO Tom Breen: The kind of progress we’re seeing in biotech generally right now is staggering and the implications for New Zealand agriculture in particular could be profound. There aren’t many people more interesting to speak to in this moment than Ruminant Biotech, who have designed a kind of pill (or bolus) which can reduce methane emissions from cows by 70%. They have an ambitious goal of 100 million cows around the world using the bolus, delivering approximately 10 mega tons of methane emissions reduction every year. Was fascinating chatting to Tom about how exactly they reach that goal. Expect that chat to drop next week.

We’re putting on an end-of-year celebration for the people who power New Zealand’s startup scene - founders, operators, investors and community contributors.
It’s been a big year for Aotearoa’s startup ecosystem. We’ve launched things, funded things, fixed things, and probably failed a few too. Through it all, the energy, ambition, and chaos never stopped and that we all deserve a drink and a good old celebration.
Join us for the Founder-Operator Christmas party - with all of the incredible people who make New Zealand’s startup world what it is.
