Compostify co-founder Steve Wilson on mission to divert billions of planter pots from landfill
Compostify's unique bioplastics solution could be a gamechanger.
Nearly 15 billion plant pots are used across the US, UK and NZ and the vast majority end up in landfill - one Kiwi start up wants to change that.
Compostify makes home-compostable plant pots that work just like plastic ones but break down naturally in soil. Once planted, they turn into fertilizer instead of waste. They last up to a year above ground and start composting as soon as they’re in the dirt.
Compostify is already working with growers, nurseries, and retailers across New Zealand, like The Warehouse and Zealandia, but have big plans to go international.
